Kolkata Police Constable Eligibility Criteria 2024:

Educational Qualification:

  • The applicant should have successfully passed the Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the Bengali language is mandatory for all applicants.
  • However, individuals who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions in Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts are exempt from this requirement.

Special Provisions for Hill Sub-divisions Applicants:

  • For applicants from the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, the rules outlined in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 (West Ben. Act XXIV of 1961) will be applicable.
