- Junior Translation Officer (JTO) – CSOLS (Code A)
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Hindi or English with the other language as a compulsory or elective subject
OR
- Master’s degree in any subject with Hindi as a medium and English as a compulsory subject at the graduation level
AND
- Diploma/Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa
- 2 years of translation experience (Hindi↔English)
- Junior Translation Officer (JTO) – Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) (Code B)
Educational Qualification:
Same as mentioned above for Code A
- Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) / Junior Translator (JT) – Central Ministries/Departments/Organizations (Code C)
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Hindi or English
OR
- Master’s degree in any subject with Hindi as a compulsory subject at graduation level
AND
- Diploma/Certificate course in translation (Hindi ↔ English)
- 2 years of translation experience
- Senior Hindi Translator (SHT) / Senior Translator (ST) – Central Ministries/Departments/Organizations (Code D)
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Hindi or English with the other language as a compulsory subject
OR
- Master’s degree in any subject (with English medium) and Hindi as a compulsory subject at the graduation level

SSC JHT, JT & SHT Recruitment 2025 : Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Paper-I: Computer-Based Examination
- This paper includes two subjects – General Hindi and General English.
- Each subject will have 100 objective-type (multiple choice) questions.
- Each subject carries 100 marks, making the total 200 marks for Paper-I.
- Duration of the exam is 2 hours.
- The questions will test your understanding of language, proper usage of words, phrases, idioms, and writing skills.
- The difficulty level of questions will be of graduation (degree) level.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Paper-II: Descriptive Examination
- This paper is designed to test translation and essay writing skills.
- It includes two translation passages:
- One from Hindi to English
- One from English to Hindi
- There will also be two essays:
- One essay in Hindi
- One essay in English
- Total marks for Paper-II: 200 marks
- Exam duration: 2 hours
- This paper checks your ability to write and understand both Hindi and English effectively and correctly.
- The difficulty level will match the required educational qualifications.

How to Download SSC JHT Exam City / Admit Card 2025?
- First, visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
- On the homepage, click on the ‘Exam City / Admit Card’ section.
- Select the link for SSC JHT 2025.
- Log in using your Registration Number and Date of Birth or Password.
- Your Exam City and Admit Card details will appear on the screen.
- Download and print the admit card on A4-size paper. It is mandatory to carry it to the exam center.
