STET Result 2024: Normalization Process:
Why Normalization is Needed:
- The STET exam is conducted in multiple shifts with varying difficulty levels.
- Normalization ensures fairness by adjusting scores so no candidate is advantaged or disadvantaged.
How Normalization Works:
- The Z-Score Normalization Method adjusts raw scores (marks from correct answers) based on shift difficulty.
- The final score is the Normalized Score, used to determine the result.
Result Basis:
- Passing or failing depends on the Normalized Score, not the raw score.
- Passing marks are set by category (e.g., 50% for General, 40% for SC/ST).
Example:
- A general category candidate with a raw score of 76/150 has their score normalized to 74.90.
- Since the passing marks for General are 75, they will be considered failed.
Impact of Wrong Answers:
- No negative marking for wrong answers.
- However, too many incorrect responses may reduce the Normalized Score
